We are recruiting for the role of Head of Practice in our Work to First Hearing and High Court teams across London.

 

We trust and empower colleagues to work in a hybrid way, providing the resources, equipment, and support, so that individually and collectively, we can be the voice of children and young people when the family court makes critical decisions about their futures.

 

Our London teams are based from Gray's Inn Road (WC1X 8NH) and Croydon (CR0 1XG) and as a Senior Leader it is expected you will be visible and accessible on a regular basis. We'll be happy to discuss with you what you could expect this to look like in due course.

Let us tell you a bit more about the role…

 

As a Head of Practice at Cafcass, you will draw on your considerable experience to lead and inspire those around you to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and practice across your teams.

 

As well as working closely with the Assistant Director, you will collaborate with other Senior colleagues across London. Also, being a high-profile area, you can expect to interact with members of our Corporate Management Team.  As you would expect, for such a key leadership role we have some key requirements, including:

 

  • Significant post qualifying experience in a social work setting of working with children and families.
  • Demonstrable experience of achieving positive outcomes for children through working in a family justice environment, including in a quality assurance / learning / improvement role.  
  • Evidence of professional development to support your progression into a managerial role.
  • A collaborative team worker who can build positive relationships and work effectively across boundaries and achieve results through others.
  • Proven experience of managing staff, services and budgets at a senior level across a wide range of functions, including supervisory and/or practice management experience.

 

Should you join us you will lead on internal practice improvement as well influence local delivery partners while also working on a mix of strategic and operational matters. By ensuring Cafcass priorities, policies and plans are delivered to the highest possible standard, you and your teams will deliver positive outcomes for children and young people going through significant events including care proceedings, adoption and parental separation.

Independently advising the family courts about what is safe for children and in their best interests, we speak up for over 140,0000 children every year when the family court makes critical decisions about their futures, ensuring their needs, wishes and feelings are heard.
